Editorial Reviews
No more Andre Toulon as there is a new sheriff in town. Dr. Magrew has some interesting ideas on puppets and he’s looking for just the right person to help make more. He discovers Tank, a down-on-his-luck gas station attendant. But he has a special ability with wood products and agrees to spend all his days to make puppets, and to fall in love with Dr. Magrew’s daughter, Jane. But the good Doc has a few secrets up his sleeve and he may be the most insane of all puppet masters. Tank replaced Matt, who mysteriously disappeared one night and when Tank finds himself strapped to a table being prepared to be sucked into his own puppet creation, he may just need to find a way of escape.
Overall: The musical chairs of puppetry continue. Torch skipped 3 & 4 to appear in part 5 and despite the fact this film succeeds part 5, Torch fails to appear. Leech Woman does show up after being killed off in part 2! The film doesn’t hint at the special liquid that keeps these puppets alive and instead hints at just putting one’s soul into it, is sufficient. The film utterly fails to mention any of the prior 5 films but actually is the first film to actively mention the puppet's names to them.
Comparison: Forrest Gump meets Evil Dead
